Smell the Roses at Stop #14

In 1998 Connie and Larry Baird decided leave their Hendersonville, Tn home and relocate to Tottys Bend in beautiful Hickman county because “ there wasn’t room for any more roses.” Now, there is room for over 400 assorted rose bushes as well as about 30 Boer/ Kiko goats, 3 Pyrenees, 1 St Bernard and a Blue Heeler . This third year participant in the Hickman County Arts and Ag tour invites you to come and “Smell the Roses.”

Larry and Connie are both American Rose Society and Nashville Rose Society consulting Rosarians so they are the perfect persons to answer all your questions about rose , and as Larry says “ most everything on the place has a story” ask about the rose from his great aunt’s home place as well as maybe the oak tree connected to Ole Jim Reed. Come on out and enjoy the lovely view overlooking the Duck River valley and peruse the collection of roses and unusual plants. Purchase some and begin your own stories for your garden.
